School names and distances are exactly as published by the developer on each project page. Drive times are indicative and vary with traffic and route. Board affiliation, fees, admission criteria and availability are not published and should be confirmed directly with each school.
No rankings, no board affiliations, no fee bands and no admission guidance. The published material gives names and distances, so that is what appears here. Anything further would be invention, and it is the kind of detail a school will confirm in one phone call.
How to read a proximity list
Four things a list of names and minutes does not tell you:
- Whether the school admits at your child's entry point. A school five minutes away with no vacancy in the relevant year is not a school five minutes away.
- Whether the board matches what you want. Several Bengaluru schools operate different boards across campuses.
- Whether transport is provided, and whether the route covers your project. A school bus changes the calculation entirely.
- What the route is actually like. A seven minute drive crossing a major junction at 7:45 is not a seven minute drive.
The Panorama set is worth reading differently from the Whitefield ones: it includes universities and engineering colleges alongside schools, which reflects the Devanahalli airport corridor rather than an established residential belt.
The school run is the real test
Do this before you decide, and it costs one morning:
Pick the two or three schools you would realistically use
From the published list and from your own research on boards and admissions.
Drive the route from the project at 7:40am on a weekday
Not at the weekend, not at 11am. The school run is a rush hour journey in the same direction as everyone else's.
Drive it again at 3pm
Pickup is a different journey, often with different congestion.
Count the junctions and the left turns
A route with one difficult right turn across traffic is slower and more stressful than its distance suggests.
Ask whether a school bus serves the project
If it does, the drive time matters far less and the pickup point matters more.
This is the same discipline as the rest of a proper site visit: go at the hour the journey actually happens.
Want the full neighbourhood detail for a project?
Each project page lists schools, hospitals, tech parks and malls with published distances. The project team can share the location map and arrange a visit.
Admission timing and possession
Admission cycles for many Bengaluru schools open months ahead of the academic year. Possession dates for under construction homes are declared years ahead and can move.
If you are buying under construction, map the two against each other early. The declared possession dates for these projects range from December 2027 to December 2029, with Panorama Phase 1 open now, so the gap can be several academic years.
Practical consequences:
- You may need an interim arrangement between admission and possession.
- A school's transport may not yet serve a project that is still under construction.
- The stage you buy at therefore has a schooling dimension as well as a financial one.
Possession dates are as published by the developer and should be verified on the Karnataka RERA portal for the specific phase.
What to verify yourself
- Board, and whether the specific campus offers it.
- Entry points and whether there is availability in your child's year.
- Fee structure, including the one time components.
- Whether school transport covers the project, and the pickup point.
- Timings, and whether they clash with your own commute.
- The actual drive, at the actual hour.
What to ask
- Which schools are nearest this specific project, and how were the distances measured?
- Do any school buses already serve this location?
- What is the declared possession date, and which academic year does that fall before?
- What is the route to the school I am considering, and what does it cross?
For the rest of the neighbourhood picture, the hospitals near each community and the drive times to the tech parks cover the other two journeys most households make.
Which Sumadhura community has schools closest by?
On the published figures, Edition lists Navaprajna Public School at about 4 minutes, Solace lists Narayana e-Techno School, Navaprajna Public School and Glentree Academy each at about 5 minutes, Folium lists Glentree Academy at about 5 minutes, and Capitol Residences lists Ujjval World School at about 5 minutes. These are indicative drive times published by the developer and should be verified by driving them.
Are these published drive times reliable?
They are indicative and were published by the developer. Drive times in East Bengaluru vary considerably with the hour, the direction of travel and the junctions on the route. Treat the published figures as a shortlisting tool and verify the specific route you would use, at the time you would use it.
Do the project pages say which board these schools follow?
No. The published material lists school names and indicative distances, and does not state board affiliation, fees, rankings or admission criteria. We do not infer those, so check directly with each school. Several of the names listed are well known chains, but the specific campus details are for the school to confirm.
How far ahead should I plan school admissions?
Admission cycles for many Bengaluru schools open months before the academic year begins, and popular schools fill early. If you are buying an under construction home, map the admission cycle against the declared possession date, because the two rarely line up neatly and a gap means an interim arrangement.
Is it better to live close to the school or close to work?
It depends on who makes the journey and how often. A school run happens twice a day on school days and is usually made by one adult; a commute happens daily for each working adult. Many households find the commute dominates, with the school run mattering most where a child travels independently or where the route crosses a difficult junction.
Should I choose a home based on school proximity alone?
Rarely. Children change schools, schools change, and a home is usually held for longer than one child's school career. Proximity is a strong convenience factor rather than a permanent one, and it is worth weighing against commute, layout, outlook and the things about a home that cannot be changed.
