Hospital names and distances are exactly as published by the developer on each project page. Drive times are indicative and vary with traffic and route. Specialities, emergency capability and operating hours are not published and should be confirmed directly with each hospital.
Distance is not capability
A clinic three minutes away and a multi speciality hospital with an emergency department fifteen minutes away are not interchangeable. In an emergency, the nearest facility is only useful if it can treat the emergency.
The published lists give names and distances. They do not state which facilities have emergency departments, intensive care, a cardiac unit, or round the clock cover. Those are one phone call each.
So convert a list into a short, specific answer:
- Which of these has a 24 hour emergency department?
- Which has intensive care?
- Which handles cardiac and stroke emergencies, where minutes matter most?
- Which is your insurer's network hospital? This is frequently overlooked and affects what you pay at the worst possible moment.
- Which treats any continuing condition in your household?
Test the worst hour
Published drive times are indicative, and almost certainly measured in reasonable conditions. The journey that matters is the one made in bad conditions.
- Drive the route at peak hour on a weekday.
- Note how many junctions and right turns across traffic it involves.
- Ask whether there is an alternative route if the main road is blocked.
- Check the route from the project gate, not from the main road, since getting out of a large site takes time too.
This is the same approach as driving the commute at the real hour. One morning covers the school run, the commute and the hospital route together.
The Devanahalli picture
Panorama's published list has a different shape from the Whitefield communities: several local hospitals within 7 to 10 minutes, and the larger city hospitals at 30 to 35 minutes.
That is characteristic of the airport corridor rather than a shortcoming of the project. It is a developing area on NH 44, and the Panorama guide covers the wider context. For a household weighing a plot there, the practical question is whether the local facilities cover routine needs and how the 30 minute journey behaves in traffic.
It is also one of the trade-offs that distinguishes buying land in a growing corridor from buying a finished home in an established one.
Want the full location detail for a project?
Each project page publishes hospitals, schools, tech parks and malls with distances. The project team can share the location map and arrange a visit.
When this matters most
Weight this factor according to the household, not as a general rule:
- Elderly residents. The highest weighting. Accessibility inside the flat and access to care outside it are the same decision.
- Young children. Frequent, usually non emergency visits, so a paediatric facility nearby is a convenience factor as much as a safety one.
- A continuing condition in the household. Proximity to the specific treating hospital outweighs any general list.
- Healthy adults. Lowest weighting today, though a home is usually held longer than that stage of life lasts.
What to ask
- Which of the nearby hospitals has a 24 hour emergency department and intensive care?
- Which are in my insurer's network?
- What is the real drive time at peak hour, from the project gate?
- Is there an alternative route if the main road is blocked?
- Where is my household's existing treating hospital relative to this project?
For the other journeys a household makes, see the schools published near each community and the drive times to ITPL and the tech parks.
Which Sumadhura community is closest to a hospital?
On the published figures, Solace lists Dinu Multi-Speciality Hospital at about 3 minutes and Manipal Hospital on Varthur Road at about 2.6 km, and Capitol Residences lists Sathya Sai Institute of Higher Medical Sciences at about 1 km and Aster Hospital at 1.8 km. These are indicative distances published by the developer and should be verified by driving the route.
Do the project pages say which hospitals have emergency departments?
No. The published material gives hospital names and indicative distances only. It does not state specialities, emergency or intensive care capability, or whether a facility operates around the clock. Check those directly with each hospital, because the difference between a clinic and a facility with an emergency department is the difference that matters.
How should I test hospital access before buying?
Drive the route to the nearest facility with emergency capability at the busiest hour, not at a quiet one. Note the junctions and whether there is an alternative route if the main one is blocked. If a household member has a continuing condition, drive to their specific treating hospital rather than to the nearest one.
Is hospital proximity important when choosing a home?
It matters more for households with elderly members, young children or anyone with a continuing medical condition, and less for a household of healthy adults. It is also one of the factors that becomes more important over the years you hold a home rather than less, which is worth weighing on a long horizon.
What about hospitals near the Devanahalli project?
Panorama publishes Sri Shirdi Sai Hospital at about 7 minutes, New Manasa Hospital at about 8 minutes, Akash Hospital and the General Hospital at Devanahalli at about 10 minutes, with Manipal Hospital at about 30 minutes and Aster CMI Hospital at about 35 minutes. That pattern of nearby local facilities and more distant large hospitals is characteristic of the airport corridor.
Does a hospital nearby affect noise or traffic?
It can. A busy hospital generates traffic and ambulance movement, which is a consideration if the project sits directly on its approach road. This is worth checking on a site visit rather than assuming, since the effect depends entirely on the specific road and the distance.
